rejuvenation

Within an hour tonight, I did three things I haven’t done all week.

~ the dishes
~ put the laundry away
~ long walk with the dogs

It has been a ROUGH week, to say the least. From undesired unemployment, to serious family illness, robbery of my office (computer, camera, iPod), and awful new neighbors upstairs, I’m ready willing to bid this week adieu. And last week was nearly as bad. I started this week with a new outlook, but that didn’t stop more bad things from happening. But this is what it’s all about, right? Figuring out how to find our peaceful centers, despite it all? It’s easy to stay zen and calm and optimistic when things are going well. When they’re not? That’s the test. Loving thanks to a most wonderful friend who shared a few hours with me tonight, good food and great conversation. Your companionship (and a little nip of my old friend Mr. Jameson to get through two sinksfull of dishes) made all the difference tonight. I’m going to bed rejuvenated, and ready to wake up and greet a new day. Thank you. Job interview tomorrow, and I am expecting the best. Maybe a miracle.  Good night.
