Midsummer’s Carol

Dippers, little big dippers

A million stars to light so bright

My summer night

Where do they go as morning’s sun

Lights up the day?

Or winter’s haze softens their nights

For snowy play?

Dippers, little big dippers

Their magic fades when summer days

Give way to seasons’ chill

And snowflakes fly around the earth

While starlight mem’ry lingers still

These stars and snowflakes mark our years

And light our nights and days

But when they leave, we still recall

Their summer’s warmth and wintry chill

They will return

They will return

And we will wish them here

Once more.
